Manu Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Just to let you all know, all is well at Pego.....plenty water, plenty sun and plenty of vans, not many uk reg though. Have been told no problem also at Manta Rota !....they need our cash so get on your way, lol. Phil
hallii Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Thanks for the reports Phil, Mata Rota is an OK place, a bit crowded last Oct. but still OK, is the water still from the showers? Pego is like a travellers camp, I went there for a night once and won't go there again, still, it suits some people. H
PJay Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 May seem a silly question, BUT where are these places? What country?. They sound like New Zealand to me, but I hope I am wrong PJay

hallii Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 PJay - 2011-09-11 5:59 PM May seem a silly question, BUT where are these places? What country?. They sound like New Zealand to me, but I hope I am wrong PJay They are places in Portugal where motorhomes congregrate. Manta Rota is a nice seaside place and has sometimes 100 + motorhomes free camping on the beach carpark. Pego do Altar is a dam and again lots of motorhomes go there and free camp. It is difficult to explain further, you just have to experience it, every nationality all sharing information, camping cheek by jowl, and getting on fine. There are hundreds of similar places all along the coasts of Spain, Portugal and France. If you fancy trying it PM me for further info. H
