Help - Annual Travel Insurance 2

Can anyone help me find an insurance company to provide us with Annual Travel Insurance, to including personal accident cover? Easy you might think. Not so. Huge medical problems? No!

First the good news. We are a couple 61 and 60 yoa, no medical conditions, who want annual cover with a maximum of 60 days away on any trip. Dozens of companies would love us as customers so far.

So what is it that makes them flatly refuse to insure us? We take a scooter. So do thousands of others you might say. Ours is 250cc. I have a full UK bike licence , no accidents etc. etc.

Many companies will not offer personal accident cover at all to ride a scooter/motorbike, some only 50cc a few up to 125cc. We are really struggling to find full cover at any price. Until August we had European Annual, 90 day max trip cover, any size motorbike on full licence personal accident cover and including winter sports at a cost of £72.

Now I can't find anything.

Can you help?

Regards,

Carl

Thank you Mel,

It is European cover I want. The C&CC will not offer personal accident cover whilst riding a scooter/motorbike over 125cc.

Does't the Motor bike ins cover you abroad for personal accident?? If you did have an accident on the bike?

Thank you Peter,

I found Ageas yesterday evening and took out insurance. Direct-travel also offer cover at a higher price and with less full cover in our case. I also found that NFUMutual offer exellent Travel Insurance cover for users of bikes of any size as an extension of the Household Insurance, unfortunately this is not available as a stand alone product. There are lots of companies who specialise in bikers who offer Travel Insurance with the necessary cover but all I can find offer 31 days or less.

Regards,

Carl

Just a thought here - depending on who your van is insured through, but mine is via Safeguard, and ofyou call them, you may find they have a range of 'other'policies which might suit you.

I was looking for other options at some time, and they did have what I wanted, but at a price. So it may be worth a go.
