International Conference on Killer Caterpillars.....

... took place this afternoon on Pitch G14, Camping Cabopino, Marbella.

Present were Representatives of: Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and 2 contingents from Wales.

3 cocoons of these deadly creatures [Pine, or Processional, Caterpillars] were detected in a pine tree above pitches G12 and G14.

The foreign nationals requested that the Spanish authorities remove said cocoons of Killer Caterpillars.

The Netherlands representatives reported that a column of Pine Caterpillars had processed down the pine tree between pitches G12 and G14 on the night of March 1st.

Remnants of this procession were still wriggling, in a rearguard action, on said pitches.

The Spanish representative reported that the Official Caterpillar Removal Mercenary Squad would be unable to be present with flame throwers and protective apparel until March 15th.

The German representative reported that he had exterminated a squadron of Killer Caterpillars by using Lighter Fuel and a Match. This action was vetoed as a future course of action by the other nationalities as it posed a potential fire hazard in the pine woods on site.

Acknowledging the fact that delegates were by now covered in a Caterpillar Rash, [probably caused by airborne caterpillar hairs - from the Screaming Caterpillar 102nd Airborne Division - alighting on washing lines and on duvets airing - not to mention in underwear drying on lines] the Spanish contingent duly sent a Lone Storm Trooper with a shovel and brush and a cardboard box to deal with the rogue terrorist caterpillars. It was noted that he displayed extreme bravery in dealing with aforementioned killer caterpillars as he was clearly very wary of contact with same - he would still like to father children.

All Representatives have now retreated to their respective units and 1 Welsh Contingent is fortifying itself with anti caterpillar serum - [Rioja].

Bulletin Ends

[Future dispatches depend on cocoons not bursting and parachuting onto this unit and her occupants.]

Good reporting worthy of the national news. It is widly recognised by the WHO that although 'Rioja' is a well known serum known for its caterpillar repelling & treatment qualities, A couple of new antidotes are now available 'Gin and Tonic' together with 'Rum and Coke' these form a formidible tool box of remedies. Although many people are discovering other tinctures to alleviate any symptoms. ;-)

These caterpillars must have regrouped since I saw the Germans use their flame throwers to exterminate them in 2008........ And then be most insistent that the Spanish "mop-up" squads were on standby for any sneaky beaky attack from fried survivors.

Be aware, that they can "spit at you" (so we were informed, range unspecified) and were nocturnal predators......... (I am still talking about the caterpillars.)

We survived......With, as stated, Rioja given the credit.
