terryW
Crossing with a young dog and it's a first time for both us and the dog, so I am looking for a stop near to Dover to give him a good walk. I don't mind a short detour and I can approach Dover via Canterbury or Folkstone. Can anyone suggest a good place to stop please?
sss
If an early ferry You can stay the night on marine parade in Dover and walk the dog on the beach before getting on the boat.
terryW
Thanks sss We expect to arrive early pm on a Monday, do you know if parking in that area is likely to be possible at that time of day?
sss
we arrived at about 1700 last time, paid for an hours parking as it becomes free after 1800. There was plenty of room throughout the evening with about 10+ vans by morning.
terryW
Thanks for that, a good run on the beach should be just what he needs to settle him down for the crossing.
josie gibblebucket
There is a marina at the bottom of our road and I see loads of yachts with dogs on, but where on earth do they do their business whilst at sea? They all seem to be perfectly at home on board, some of them even wear little doggy life jackets ;-) Do you think they just poo and it gets chucked overboard? 8-)
