' New ' aire

This 'aire' near Mont St-Michel is described here:

http://campingcar-infos.com/Francais/ccib.php?numero=20851

It's worth noting the comments about pricing and payment, and the (apparent) vehicle length-limit of 7 metres.

The campingcar-infos entry suggests that there is no motorhome service-point, which seems to be confirmed here:

The new aire is 12.50 euros for 24 hours.

In spite of its size there were only about 4 or 5 vans there last night ( there's room for 200 plus ).

Must say it looks more like a campsite than an aire.

Will post a couple of pics when I get home in a couple of days ( I'm almost timed out at the moment ).

The new aire, which opened in April in the village of Beauvoir, DOES have a motorhome service point, in fact there's room for three vans to be' serviced 'at one time.

It's expensive BUT, you do get free Wi-Fi !

Presumably the aire at Beauvoir you are referring to IS the same one as shown in the campingcar-infos entry I gave a link to above?

Comments in the latter entry say that the cost for a 'journée' is 12.50€, but emphasise that the journée's 24-hour time-period runs from 2am to 2am. In principle, this would mean that, if one arrived there at, say, 6pm you'd pay 12.50€ for the 8-hour period from 6pm that day to 2am the following day, then need to pay another 12.50€ for the next 24 hour period - a total of 25€ for what most people would consider a normal overnight stay.

I had come across a webpage

http://www.camping-montsaintmichel.com/fr/aire-mont-saint-michel

that indicated 'servicing' facilities were provided at the Beauvoir aire, but the accompanying photo, plus the apparent conflict between how one paid (webpage says by bank-card, campingcar-infos comment suggests otherwise - though perhaps just means that there was a problem with the barrier-entry machine), made me wonder which information was correct and which was not.

I note that there continues to be (apparent) conflict between what's been said here about charges/servicing and what's been said on the Motothome Matters "Mont St Michel" thread. Dunno what the answer is.

Arrived back today from Normandy and will try to attach a few pics of the new Beauvoir site ( if I can remember how to do it ).

I think there may be some confusion because the aire ' in front of ' Mont St. Michel has been moved and is now more like a big car park - the other ' new ' site at Beauvoir is a mile or so back down the road towards Pontorson.

Picture no, 2 shows the service point area and reception building.

Thanks for the photos.

I'm sure you are right - that the aire at Beauvoir you've provided details for is being confused with the dedicated motorhome parking at the Mont St Michel's own car parking areas. There's no doubt that 'your' aire has motorhome servicing facilities.
