thomas
For information only. The popular Aire at Le Touquet, by the marina, has had half the spaces removed. It may be lodgical to the French, but creating more parking for cars, which remains empty most of the time, whilst preventing fee paying camping cars doesn't add up. Of course, the French Camping Caristes just stop on the nearest grass verges, or park up in the "bourne area". After all; France is for the French, (with a shrug of the shoulders) if anyone asks! Although there is another aire in the vacinity, Hippotel, through the summer there are events which take part there, limiting its use. In the past we have found it to be a good overnight stop before crossing early next day, but could be problems with lack of space now.

Matrix Meanderer
Thanks for the update. Having been to Le Touquet many times, I get the feeling that they really don't like camping cars in their posh town but have to provide something or else our French friends will riot in the market square. Pity they never enforce any of their parking rules - all part of the republic's way of life. Enforcement of the new drink drive regulations should be interesting when it comes into force for 'Foreigners' later in the year. :-D
Mel B
We 'hid' behind the sign at the hockey pitch/stadium for the night ... lovely and quiet and the dogs enjoyed chasing the squirrels up the trees when we took them for a walk!!! :D
