New Year

Recommended Posts

Yes, I know it's a bit early but just trying to think ahead!

For the last few New Years we've gone to Edinburgh, staying on Mortonhall site, but fancied a change this year. I'd be grateful to receive any suggestions/recommendations based on your own experiences.

Many thanks

Careful Mike ... you'll upset the All Mighty Brian with questions like that!!! :D (only kidding oh great and noble one ;-) ).

I too would be interested though as we've been at home for New Year for many a year now so fancy getting away too, preferably to somewhere WITHOUT fireworks! :-D

We are tempted to visit the Christmas markets in Holland and/or Germany then trundle orf down to the Sunny Costas for Christmas and the New Year.

Trouble is we haven't a clue how to carefully plan three months in advance and execute this mammoth trip and perhaps Brian could help us please!!

Drummour Holiday Park, Nr Prestonpans. Just off B1361. 6-7 miles from Edinburgh, very frequent buses into the city and run fairly late.

Next to Prestongrange Industrial Heritage Museum, Musselburgh Royal Golf Club And Musselburgh Racecourse.

Stopped there last year when we went to the Edinburgh Tattoo, pleasant place to stop,

Look into the CCC/ DA pages for Scottish DA's and see which DA are holding New Year Rallies, if your a CCC member then contact relevant DA for details. Most New year Rallies are from 29/30 Dec to 2nd Jan. Hope you are successful and enjoy it.

Why would anyone want to go to Scotland for New Year?

The only thing more dour than the Scots at that time of year is the weather!

Cold, wet, windy - and that's just the locals - plus it gets dark at 3 pm - not our idea of fun!

Agree it's bad ernough in the summer :D :D :D
