PJay
Think answer is NO. There is a thread on this subject, if the search works

malc d
gadjo - 2012-08-07 1:16 PM just a quick one is the aire still open at mont st michel??? the one on the big car park at the end of the road right near the mont it's self?? (?) There were vans there about four/five weeks ago when we visited, but there is a very big new aire just down the road in the village of Beauvoir - room for more than a couple of hundred vans. As has been mentioned search for ' Mont St Michel ' or ' Beauvoir ' and you will find the recent thread ( dated about July 4 ).

Seemed to me there was still an aire near the Mont, but it's now just part of the car park, so it's within walking distance. Might be worth you going down there for a look as it's only a short distance back to Beauvoir ??? There's a control point on the road stopping traffic from getting to the Mont now. ( We didn't use the aires - we used the campsite in Beauvoir which is almost opposite the new aire ). The aire along the side of the road close to the Mont has certainly gone and people are now bussed there from the car park. Shame really - it's become very ' corporate ' looking there now. As has been stated above, look at earlier threads. The motorhome parking referred to immediately above as "part of the car park" is NOT a place to stay as it is 12 euros 50 to park until 2 am and a full overnight stay is 25 euros. Details of the new aire at Beauvoir are given in one of the earlier threads. If you are able to cycle or walk a reasonable distance, then there is no problem staying in Beauvoir. You could cycle or walk to the free shuttle bus stop - or even walk acrosss the causeway to Le Mont.

sshortcircuit
Mel, I was there about 6 weeks ago. The walkway is still open and I can not see it closing until they have the new route created which will be ???? ages away and even then I would imagine a walkway will be provided. Part of this reasoning is that dogs where not allowed on the buses so a walkway would be required

The coordinates provided on the www.campingcar-infos.com website in the entry for BEAUVOIR Mont Saint Michel (No: 21255) are Latitude : (North) 48.59427° Decimal or 48° 35' 39'' Longitude : (West) -1.51209° Decimal or -1° 30' 43" (The earlier confusion on the campingcar-infos website between the aire in Beavoir itself and the motorhome parking area closer to Mont St Michel now seems to have been resolved.)
