ChrisK5
Hi all, we are off to France soon, Can anybody recommend an Aire between Caen and Paris, the brief description in All The Aires book probably doesnt give them justice.
sshortcircuit
Plenty of aires between Caen and Paris but it will depend on what route you are taking and how long you intend to travel. Do you intend going north or south of Rouen?
robertandjean
If going south of Rouen then would rec. : Broglie.(dept 27) More like a top class CL with large individual pitches, barrier at night and live in warden! (around 6€/night, no hook-up). Rugles.(dept 27) Nice setting on edge of nice village. No charge and includes hook-up. Brezzoles.(dept 28) Again nice setting in old walled garden and no charge but no hook ups. Some on here have not rated this one be we have been often and always enjoyed our stay. If going north of Rouen then try: Cleres (dept 76). Indiv. hedged pitches and village is nice. No charge to stay but services now charged. Hook-up is 4€ for 6hours. Can be muddy if heavy rain. Montville. (dept 76} Again nice situation this time on edge of town centre overlooking park/lake. No charge to stay and free wi-fi but no hook-ups and services charged. Forges-Les-Eaux (dept 76) Well set out aire with hook-ups. Cost around 5€/night but town is afairly long walk. Hope this helps. And you are correct the "All" aires book is not always very helpful, as inspecting an aire is not the same as staying on it.
