Hawcara
Apart from staying at Gravelines overnight, is it possible to stay on the port at Dunkirk, when one has to catch an early morning ferry. We were able to do it at Calais last year and wondered whether it was possible at Dunkirk. Thank you B-)
FRANKP60
Yes you can park and sleep in car park in front of terminal building . Toilets last time we used them were awful , when we stayed over last time no coffee etc until you were booked in and in boarding car park. But good place to stop if you are a late boat from uk. Tony Jones
Yes, we've used it a couple of times and I'd echo what Frank says. Think of it like a free Aire not a campsite, and it's fine.
Auditor
When we were last at Dunkirk, in July, the road layout had been changed. I assumed it was an attempt to try and speed up the exit and improve road safety, at the port? Anyway, I couldn't see a way to access the parking area, without driving approx 1/4 mile to the second traffic island, and returning to the port, which we did. The parking area could then be accessed via the normal route, to the far side of the ticket sales. We, too, have stayed here many times, without any problems. It always seems a bit quieter than Calais.
robertandjean
Stayed there last Monday night after arriving at 1.00am with no problems and little noise. As stated above to access parking area, next to ticket office, you do need to drive to second roundabout and turn around. Fine for one night if arriving late or leaving early. We use it often. Luckily we've an on board toilet and coffee making facilities, so haven't had to use theirs.
