Knaus
Hello Just wondered if there are any sites with lakes where you can Kayak. Don't want rivers as we are new to kayaking .
Col
Keswick CCC site is the first to come to mind as it is on the side of Derwenidioter but you have to pay a launching fee! There are a couple of sites on Ullswater but I don't know their names or if they charge for launching. Good luck, Col
Minstrel
If you're in the south west, look at South West waters website, there are several lakes and there are campsites,a lthough i don't know whether they are open in the winter. We've had our inflatable out on Roadford Lake. The campsite has several hardstandings, but the showers are a bit communal!
camocam1
If your heading for Scotland then Glenmore "camping in the forest" is right next to Loch Morloch and very good for walking / cycling

Barryd999
Waterside campsite Ullswater in the lake district is right on the waters edge. http://www.watersidefarm-campsite.co.uk/ Crummock Water and Buttermere are superb as well and much more remote. There are several good wild camping spots very near the waters edge along there. Not sure if you need a permit or not though for the Kayak. mel wood
Luss Camping and Caravanning Club Site is on the shore of Loch Lomond and close to Luss village. You will not have to pay a launching fee to use your kayak from Luss campsite. If you are going to use a CCC site for a few days it will be worth joining the Club as there is a £7.20 extra charge per night for non-members. Vulcan
If you intend to venture to France try Camping Le Lac Bleu at Doussard at the southern tip of Lake Annecy with direct access to the lake, also if you Cycle, the cycle path goes all the way up to the town of Annecy along the lake. Really nice area. Vulcan
