India has, partly in exchange for this, relatively very small amount of aid, been a massive buyer of UK technology Company products, and also of weapons and aircraft from companies such as BAe etc. India is one the largest non-EU markets for UK-produced goods and services. I'm not arguing the morality, simply the fact that on balance, the UK economy ( Companies, jobs, profits which pay taxes to fun the Public Sector) does phenomenally well out of India..............at the moment.
