chas
Hi all- after having the old green paper type licence for more years than I like to remember, I decided to replace it to the pink photo style ones, thought it would be more acceptable when abroad. Thought I knew all the paper work needed to take, and have not long got back from our latest holiday, no probs, but have just read in my latest AA magazine that part of the documentation needed to take is the paper countapart with the licence, something which I had not taken, this is just a reminder to anyone who did not know this, that it should accompany the licence. chas
david lloyd
Hi chas Not only for going abroad but many other situations where a driving licence is produced for ID - it has to have the paper counterpart too. Sort of makes you ask the question 'why change to the photo ID card?' doesn't it. Regards, david

Don Madge
We always carry IDP's they are better received especially outside the EU. We consider it money well spent. They also take all the hassle out of hiring a car if the need arises. Don
