flicka
One of the tips for winterisation of the Vans, is to pull down the window blinds. It helps with security from prying eyes & reduces uv light fading upholstery. I've always been sceptical of this advise as long term closure can cause strain on the blinds spring mechanisms. I've now found some of the cheap car windscreen internal sun shades (foil on one side) & cut them to the sizes of the motorhome windows, plus enough to place inside the roof lights. For little cost they should eliminate the strain on the blind springs. (Just got to remember to get some more next summer when they are cheaper & more readily available.) Derek Uzzell
A piece in MMM January 2013 (pages 161/162) suggests using ' Correx' for the same purpose http://www.theplasticshop.co.uk/corrugated-polypropylene-sheet-correx-2936-0.html
spospe
Since we started caravanning / motorhoming in 1977, I have always pulled the blinds down when the vehicle has not been in use and never had any problems with them. Have I been lucky?

David Dwight
I had some of that foil backed foam that you put behind radiators in the shed so have used that for several years.
andre65
Although I've not used it, buddies have informed me they were satisfied with Fenwick's Overwintering to secure the 'van from the components. It's applied or sponged on after cleaning the van then just remaining to dry.
Guest pelmetman
I find the best way to winterise the van is to take it to Spain B-)
