MikeF47 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Hi We have a motorhome but no other transport and am looking for a site that is open from February onwards that has hard standing and a bus service that can take us to a town for sightseeing etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Mike
Patricia Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Welcome to the forum. You haven't made any suggestions about which area, or even country for that matter, so I am going to assume that you mean in the UK. One site that occurs to me is the CC and C site, or possibly the CC site next to it will also be open by February, at Hanley Swan, near Malvern. The bus stops outside which would take you to Malvern, Worcester, Upton-on-Severn and Tewkesbury with connections to other towns too. Hanley Swan is a small village but it has a well-stocked post office / shop, pub and butchers within walking distance.
jam151 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Ord houuse country park is another 1 open all year, it is in the town of berwick upon tweed in north northumberland about 1/2 mile off the A1& about 3 miles south of the scotland border there are buses going past the entrance about every hour but the town is only about 20mins walk away its perfectly situated as you are also near to a train station so a commute to edinburgh or newcastle is only 45 mins there are a couple of cls very nearby open all year too but not on a bus route

Mike Can you be a bit more specific as to what areas you wish to visit. However, if you like Devon, then Cofton PArk is near Exeter, and do VERY good deals at this time of year. We stayed there for about 10 days last year in the MH at something like £10 per night inc Electics etc., The no 2 bus stops outside the site and goes to Exeter or Teignmouth about every 20mins, and from the latter, there is conncetion to Torbay. The former has transport connections to many other places in Devon, and there are also good walks from the site. Whilst the site is a large holiday complex, it is very quiet at this time of year, and we really enjoyed ourselves.]Anotehr one in this part of the world - again a large complex but exc value now, is Beverley Holidays Goodrington,Paignton, again with bus services nearby. http://www.coftonholidays.co.uk/touring http://www.beverley-holidays.co.uk/ If you are In CC, then try Bristol, Baltic Wharf, or Birmingham,Chapel Lane...amongst others whcih are stillopen. If you state the area you want, then may be able to give other suggestions, as we hyave often looked for and found sites for use in Feb/March. Hope this helps.
