peterjl
Hi You are spoilt for choice. Grassmere is close by. There is a cafe almost next to Cotswold Rock Bottom shop that lets dogs in and youu could walk up to Easedale Tarn, say an hour each way. Also on road from Windermere to Grasmere there are car parks that let youu walk over to the mere itself. There are plenty of other cafes in Grasmere, we go to that one cos we can factor it into our lunch stop in the middle of a days walking with our Labrador. Mike P
You could follow the A591 past Windermere and turn right (mini roundabout) onto the A592 towards the Kirkstone Pass. Scenic drive through Troutbeck & Troutbeck Tongue up to the Kirkstone Pass Inn (dog friendly). drop down the other side of the Kirkstone Pass towards Brotherswater & Hartsop and you will find the Brotherswater Inn (also dog friendly and overlooking Andy Stothert's favourite campsite at Sikeside, also good for a walk into Dovedale) return to the Kirkstile Inn and take the right fork down "The Strugglle" to Ambleside and then back to Ings via the A591 (or if you've still time go the other way on the 591 to Rydal & Grasmere) Hope this helps.
