Rayjsj Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 The leisure battery on my 2012 Autotrail is having problems holding it's charge, even though it has been on EHU most of the time over the last 3 months we have been away, thought I'd just check that the level was ok and that the connections were tight, Turns out to be an Elecsol 110 carbon fibre, 'maintenance free' battery. ie (No way to top it up anyway). No real worries as it will be covered under the Van's 3 year warranty. Just didn't know that Autotrail were fitting them as new fitments though. Am I just Unlucky ?? Ray
Derek Uzzell Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Ray In 2008 Auto-Trail began to factory-fit Elecsol batteries to provide 'leisure' 12V power. http://www.elecsolbatteries.com/pdf/ElecsolNewsletter2008.pdf I don't know if Auto-Trail still fit Elecsol batteries as OEM but - as your battery seems to be on its last legs - you would be well-advised to confirm ASAP that its replacement under the Auto-Trail warranty will be straightforward. I refer you to this MotorhomeFun 2009 thread http://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/motorhome-chat/15622-elecsol-batteries-fobbed-off-you-will.html
Barney123 Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 Sounds like Trading Standards can be called of the case now.
