Tony Jones
Visiting our first ever "Britstop" tonight, at the Flying Horse in the wilds of Kent. More to the point, first night in "Roxie" since Autumn, because battery problems have made the heating unusable. Great to be back motorhoming again. Usually we get at least a night away every month! colin
Well I hope the heating's working fine now, we've just got back after a week and a bit away and it's chilly out there. Last night seemed so cold in the 'old house' I was half inclined to spend the night in the van.
BGD
Good to hear it Tony, but you need to get your finger out matey.........The Boss will be calling you in not too many years, so get out there and enjoy that MH whilst you two can; not just for the odd night, but on proper tours for months at a time........ :-D
Intransit
Tony, Like you we have joined Britstop for the first time this year, just wondering how your first nights stop at The Fling Horse went, did they give you a warm welcome?
Guest JudgeMental
Yes interested in how it went also..and is there pressure to spend lots of money? :D First proper ride out on bike today for months....still cutting in the wind but lovely and sunny for a change. They are saying next week should be normal temperatures..
Tin Man
You lot are late starters. We went to Belgium and France from 3rd to 13th March. Lovely weather to start with but we got caught in the snow travelling from St Valery en Caux to Bruges. (Could be an Ice Road trucker after that experience)! Leisure battery went down, but charged it up at Bruges aire by the bus station, (worth a visit by the way as it's in the town itself). We're getting impatient now for the next trip, but new grandson, born today, will keep us occupied for a bit.

They are saying next week should be normal temperatures.. We felt VERY welcome Eddie. We'd booked a meal too, which was part of the point for us after a busy Easter. But two other couples arrived en route to an early ferry (grrr!). They only popped in for a drink before eating in their van, and were just as welcome. Second night just as good, at Cuckoo's Pit Organic Farm. Very friendly, even though busy with lambing. Saw day-old lambs! Again, we did spend, but only because we wanted to - they only opened the shop when we asked them to! Fresh eggs, bacon and sausages... mmmm! And John & Bruce, some of us still work for a living! Someone has to pay your pensions and winter fuel allowance! :D
