BGD
Northern Spain, no. Southern Spain: yes, utterly lunatic.
PJay
As Dave said, start in Northern Spain, some lovely places there in ACSI, and as the weather turns go south, where it will be warmer. We got back last week, and weather was hot in south but as we got further north weather a lot cooler. We tried some new sites from the Acsi book, one at Aranjuez, site within walking distance , not 10 mins, of the Palace and Gardens , worth a visit, just s.e of Madrid. We found it a nice drive up the centre of Spain. Was not impressed with the site at Burgos, but at least the bus stops out side, so a visit to the Cathedral was possible. Orio near San Sebastion, walk to the beach, one way and to the village, the other, which has some history to it. If driving down through France, a good stopover is North of Bordeaux, easy access from ring road called Village du lac Camping, hard standing for MH and water/Elec on pitch. Has bus stop outside for trips into Bordeaux. From here it is a good run down to Spain. Be aware that there are a lot more toll roads in France near to the Spanish border Have a good trip, we hope to get back in September ourselves, though may stay in France (if it has stopped raining!!) foxy
In Benidorm at moment, just looked at thermometer and its 34`C. Try the aire at laruns then come over Pyrenees and follow A23 no tolls and dual carriageway most of way.
