Mrs T
Described on Radio 4 just 10 mins ago this morning by Mike Harding as he cruised around the Lake District with his trusty 'Molly', a mouthorgan and a 6 stringed Lute. His VW is a 2001 model but presumably a copy of the original Westfalia vans, (by the engine sound). Not a fan of organised sites he's more a 'park it in a pub traveller'. You missed an interesting conversation. Mt
BGD
If you can tell people what the programme was, they may be able to listen to it via the BBC 4 "listen again" website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio/bbc_radio_four/20130720

Mrs T
BGD. Had not thought of that, thanks, yes R4 Saturday Live as Gwendolyn says, I thought it was an interesting snippet although most of us know both the VW and Mike Harding, to hear it portrayed as part of life as opposed to the glorification aspect was good. Mrs T
The book sounds interesting and will organise an order. We have the 2014 M/H version, no time or space to build one now, the picture is a true likeness !. Our music following is Cajun, we went to the Savoy shop and their farm in Eunice a few years ago, they have a 10 farmer BBQ as in years past. Wonderful. Guest JudgeMental
"Travelling in a VW Camper Van was"..Idyllic. We had 7 happy years with our USA import 2.1 petrol T3 westfalia with all the extras, it was a great van and we got back what we paid for it, plus it only needed a few bits of exhaust in all that time... :-D
Mrs T
Our original interest started when Mr T was a mechanic to a motorcycle scrambles rider, he had a split windscreen van that went like a bomb plus his racing brain and Mr T always vowed that he would eventually have one, and he did, several, they've all been near perfect. Anything that's designed for use on Autobahns has got to be good !
