hymernova1
Hi Can anyone advise if would should take our bikes to this area please? We have looked at Ordnance Survey map and it looks quite hilly. We can manage gentle hills etc but nothing too hectic. Also any recommendations on places to visit while in this area please?
sshortcircuit
At the weekend I will see 30/40 cyclist past my door as a popular route. Like most of Scotland it is not flat so hills will be encountered. Obviously St Andrews and the East Neuk are worth visiting. Where do you intend to stay? hymernova1
Hi We are staying at Drumcarrow Farm near St Andrews and then moving to Upper Largo for a couple of days.
sshortcircuit
Staying where you are you will have taken in St Andrews although you could have stayed closer as many park up on the Links which should now be easier with the ladies golf finishing. Just meander along the coast and you will pick up some lovely fishing villages, Crail, Anstruther St Monans etc. Whatever enjoy :-D
RogerC
If space and/or weight is not a problem I would suggest taking them. We did the west coast a couple of years ago and whilst we didn't do a lot of cycling when the opportunity arose we did get out and about. Had we not had the bikes we would have missed out on some glorious sights. In short it is better to have them and not use them than it is not to have them and wish you did. malc d
Being on the east coast of Scotland, Fife should be relatively easy for cycling. If you Google " Kingdom of Fife cycling " you will find some websites with info on cycle routes.
