anesta
Hello, Could someone recommend a good wheel lock/clamp to use on a motorhome with steel wheels. The lighter the wheel lock the better. It also should be 'sold secure' to help with insurance quotes. I have seen so many but I don't know which is best. Thanks. :-)
lennyhb
Why bother unless your Motorhome is more than 15 years old it will have a decent immobiliser on it and if a thief than can get by that he will have no problem with a wheel clamp.
Derek Uzzell
There will pretty much inevitably be a relationship between weight and strength. You'll be limited to some extent by the large size of your motorhome's wheels, a Sold Secure requirement will reduce choice further, and a wish for lightness further still. I suggest you produce a short-list of locks/clamps that meet your criteria and ask forum-members if they have experience of them. I'm quessing, though, that motorcaravanners who use clamps - say for when the vehicle is parked at home or in storage - won't be overly concerned about a clamp's weight. This Milenco wheel-clamp http://tinyurl.com/p9wy3oa is light (3kg), insurance approved and should fit your Hymer's wheels. RogerC
We have this one and fit it when the MH is in storage as required by our insurance company. http://www.justmilenco.co.uk/epages/es134997.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es134997/Products/%221779%20MILENCO%2016%22%22%20MOTORHOME%20Wheel%20Clamp%20Motorhome%20M16%22 Google Milenco 16" Motorhome wheel clamp

There's something odd about the link you've provided (though it looks OK!) This is the product you mention http://tinyurl.com/ojyz3lz It weighs about 10kg, but (as it says in the advert) could be awkward to carry when travelling due to its bulk. There's a video-clup about it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzi4lXKIQBM (Long URLs (links) result in a posting 'stretching', which can be tough on readers. Rayjsj
Yes, me too, I use an 'M16 Milenco wheel clamp' a bit expensive at £115 new, managed to get a good used one on E-Bay for £60. Use it when in storage, when 'on Hols.' i use a plastic covered (thick) steel cable, through rear wheel, through suspension and locked with a good padlock. havn't lost the van yet, so, it must be working ??
