MrsMimi Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Hi - we are planning a late trip to Spain, leaving UK around 25 Sept. We have never ventured further than the Spanish border (Collioure) before and are planning to go as far as - say - Valencia. Can anyone recommend nice sites (which will take a dog) for Spanish first timers? We would like to be near the sea, obviously, and for the site to have a nice restaurant and be near a town. We plan to be away for four or five weeks, so obviously need somewhere that is open late in the season. We are towing a Smart car in case any sites have difficult access. Would be eternally grateful for any advice and tips
Guest pelmetman Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 South of Valencia you could try camping Kiko at Olivia, its right on the beach although behind a sand dune.........posh restaurant on site, and cheaper one just off site............. Although I didn't go a bundle on my meal at the posh restaurant...........80 quid for a plate of goat bones 8-)... http://www.kikopark.com/camping/index.asp?idlengua=1
PJay Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Hi Rachel There are lots of sites in the ACSI book, most will take dogs. You say you are towing a smart car. Are you using an A Frame? As they are illegal in Spain, and you can be fined . plenty of threads on here about it. We like Calpe Mar in Calpe, they take dogs, and site is close to town and beach, so need for a car.Lovely friendly site, with Pool also toilets/showers are very good PJay PS you will get more replies if you post on the main forum,
MrsMimi Posted September 15, 2013 Author Posted September 15, 2013 Thanks PJay. That's very helpful. I did know about the A-frame thing. Doesn't apply to us as we have a trailer but we met someone in France who had "come a cropper" in Spain. Will repost on main forum. Cheers
