the West Sands are a great place to park both during the day and overnight however there was an article in the local paper which maybe of interest to some. I have contacted the local council asking if they could provide facilities for motorhomes with a charge as all services are available, however to date no reply. Article from Dundee Courier , Fife section.

44 vans - Wow, I didn't realise it was so popular. Have never stayed there myself being a localish resident but it looks like a nice stopover.

"it’s not sustainable for so many vehicles to park up and empty their camper van toilets at the toilet blocks.”

Perhaps the toilet sewers go straight out to sea..

This situation is happening all over the UK and it's always a similar reply from local councils (use the local campsites) they fail to address the needs of motorhome and campervan users who do not wish to use the services of a campsite.

Mikey, Well done for writing to your local council if more individuals did this then they might start to listen but the problem lies when they just ignore your voice.

I set up the website www.tmcto.org to bring to light the problems we face finding suitable parking locations whilst touring around the UK in our motorhomes, have a look at the recent news stories here: http://www.tmcto.org/index.php/motorhome-news to see you are not alone.

Please join us and comment on any of the stories we feature, together we can make a difference.

Thank you

As usual an unbalanced report, although I could believe 40 odd vans. Stayed overnight in August with about 6 others so not as bad as reported. I am afraid these reports of WC being overburdened are way off as the same area is used when the golf competitions are on and copes then
