snowie
Hi Zak; A few weeks ago we stayed at a site in Benson, Oxon; you can find details on the ukcampsites.co.uk website. Not many pitches, and about half close to canal. Good facilities, not cheap. You can also find canalside sites there by using the forums search facility. regards alan b
derek pringle
Hi Zak, The Cotton Arms in Cheshire. look at website, has a site at back with canal side parking and small marina. Pub food good and reasonably priced. If you are a c.c. club member just type in waterside sites and you will see a huge list, many of which are club certified and so small also cheap. cheers derek
ips
Can it be river rather than canal if so St Neots C&CC site at canbridgeshire is right on the river with lovely walks.
Sydney1
C&CC site in Devizes good although may not give you a clear view. Good pub outside entrance and others further along the canel with option to bus, walk or cycle into "the lovely market town of Devizes". We stayed there in Feb and had a great time
pepe63xnotuse
It's been a few years since we went but Grindley Brook (Norh Shrophire) was okay.. http://www.surftech.co.uk/GrindleyBrookVillage/caravans.htm ..an ordinary little village (pub etc) and nice enough walks along the canal ..and walkable into Whitchurch(..although we didn't, so don't know what the walk in is like).. Not sure if I'd travel vast distances to get there though.... (..I'm not really selling it, am I... (lol) )
