Alan D Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 What do the experts out there make of this new tablet? Is it any better, for the price, that what is already on offer? Can it really be compared to an I pad ( 0n loyalty card) for £60? Alan.
Mel B Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I assume you're talking about this: http://www.tesco.com/direct/hudl/ http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/sep/23/tesco-hudl-tablet-computer-review Can you tell me where you have found that the table can be bought for £60 for clubcard members (clubcard boost?) as I can't find this anywhere on the Tesco site.
Guest JudgeMental Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 well it looks horrible, but cheap, but you can get a a samsung fo £60 more...I would wait and see some reviews? it may well be slow, whatever..who knows. but if you just want to do a little wifi browsing and the like, these sort of devices maybe OK as long as not infuriatingly slow. try before you buy
grahamw Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 If Tesco are planning to reach a wider audience for their services then one of their tablets in your hand is potentially a direct line to you and 'authorised' by you for marketing purposes. Very clever. This doesn't mean to say that the Hudl will not be a good device, it could well turn out to be very good value but you may have to guard against being pestered.
Tracker Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 A Google search will come up with several reviews and comparisons and as far as I can see if all you want is a cheap and effective way to send emails and surf via WIFI ONLY on a device more easy to use than a compact smartphone it should do the job adequately. It has no built in mobile phone connection - but you can still tether it to a smartphone for internet access away from WIFI. For sixty quid it might well be worth a go?
