Particulate filter warning light

My particulate warning light has come on and my speedo has stopped working! Base vehicle is 2006 old model Peugeot Boxer 2.2 Hdl. Any ideas suggestions gratefully received. Is it coincidence or are both things linked somehow. I have recently driven from Dover to Yorkshire at 65mph and that hasn't made any difference even though I have read about " regeneration'. Mileage on van is 27k

Are you sure that you have a particulate filter as I don't think think that it would have been standard fit on a van of 2006 vintage?

 

2011/12 and Euro5 engines on the X2/50 base would have been the first time that they were fitted as standard.

Thanks. Just checked in the handbook and the symbol says either emission control warning or particulate filter problem. Again, any info most welcome before I take it to the dealers
