Bill G Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Hi all, during our last trip away we discovered the fridge had packed up working on gas. Having got home we checked it out and the fridge works ok on 240 and 12 volt. I have cleaned out the gas jets, blown through the fridge exhaust system. The flame ignites ok and having left the fridge 24 hrs, still no joy. Anybody out there got any suggestions, I'm stumped. (?)
flicka Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Hi Bill & welcome to the forum. Being an Electrolux fridge indicates it's a few years old & I would guess your problem will be the thermocouple & that the gas jet will be well worn (regardless of any other problem). Electrolux leisure fridges (IIRC) was purchased by Dometic, who have service technicians based across the country. It may be worthwhile having it checked professionally. http://www.dometicapproved.co.uk/service.aspx You should also be able to search the Dometic website to see what spares are available for your model fridge.
Bill G Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Thanks for the welcome and your advice. I will take a look now and hope I can get it sorted. Don't want to shell out for a new fridge unless I have to as our Hymer is 21 years old. Thanks again, I'll keep you posted.
