peacock312
Hi,I reinsured my van last week, ready for Spain next week usual question to me was ,same named drivers yes, said I ,good much cheaper for two of you, dawned on me later my partner is now unable to drive our van due to lack confidence, age 76, plus it's a 4 toner, so tecknically she couldn't drive it anyway without C 1,I wonder if I need to tell insurers and pay the extra premium? ? lennyhb
If you were taken ill or had an accident & were unable to drive breakdown insurance, would not pay for recovery if a named driver on the vehicle insurance is with you, they would be expected to drive the vehicle home. malc d
I think I would tell them and get it sorted before you go. They will always be looking for a reason not to pay up if anything goes wrong. :-|
peacock312
Thanks,I have now done just that, spoke to Safeguard, very helpfull, didn't know if it mattered but advised me to remove partners name if she didn't have C1 licence, they agreed to send amended certificate, no increase in premium,no adjustment fee, very nice company to deal with, competitive and friendly, thanks for your replies.Dave.
