Derek Uzzell
Haven't you got a recent-ish Globecar motorhome? If you can give the model and year of the vehicle it might help (and perhaps provide a photo of the reading lights).
tomag
Ihave got a 2012 Globecar Campscout but having looked at the Dethleffs motorhomes all the late models have the same reading lights
Billggski
The owners club website has been down since I joined, something about the website company, but Richard who runs it is very helpful if you email him. They can get parts at a discount if you pay the £15 to join. Saved me about £100 so far.
Derek Uzzell
tomag There's a UK Globecar/Possl forum that's alive and kicking http://globecar.forumatic.com/index.php and an (annual subscription) UK Dethleffs Owners Club http://www.dethleffsowners.co.uk/index.php According to the respective brochures, the design of the track-mounted reading lights fitted to 2014 Globecars differs from those used on 2012 models. I assume your motorhome has the type of lights shown for Campscout here: http://www.southdownsmotorcaravans.co.uk/pdf/southdowns-2012-globecar-motorhome-brochure.pdf My Hobby motorhome’s track-mounted reading lights have no obvious manufacturer’s markings. I’ve only seen this design of light used on Hobby leisure-vehicles and I’ve no idea where I’d source them other than try to get them from Hobby. Unless you can identify your lights’ manufacturer, you may well find that you’d need to obtain them from Dethleffs. (I’m guessing you’ve explored that option and not liked the asking-price!) Derek Uzzell
tomag - 2014-01-03 10:23 PM Hi mine are on a track not like those in the picture you fit the end into the track then turn 90 degrees to fix them to the track and yes you are right I was hoping to find them cheaper than at Dethleffs As far as I can make out, the reading lights of the Campscout model shown on Pages 8 & 9 of the 2012 Globecar brochure I gave a link to are track-mounted. Look-alike track-mounted lights are shown in the 2011 brochure (that I have a paper copy of) for the equivalent "Globecamp 636SB" vehicle. There is a set of Campscout photos here https://live.staticflickr.com/6169/6175188998_8168f5d7c1_b.jpg with a picture of one of the track-mounted lights that matches the photos in the 2011/20112 brochures. I assume this is the design of light used on your motorhome. https://live.staticflickr.com/6156/6174672079_26bcd068b4_b.jpg As I observed earlier, the 2014 Globecar brochure http://www.globecar.de/cms/wp-content/download/2014/Internet_Globecar_Kat_engl.pdf shows a different design for the light-units that are track-mounted. The following photo shows the revised design https://live.staticflickr.com/2808/10141792323_6fbbc03ae9_z.jpg Looking at the lights in the photos, I suspect you won't be able to obtain them other than from Globecar/Dethleffs. You best bet may be to do as Billggski suggested and join the Dethleffs Owners Club for the spare-parts discount.
