PJay
Hi Guys Does any one know of an aire/campsite in resort of Benelmadena? Have friends going there on holiday, and would like to meet up with them in May. i have looked in ACSI/ and the CC book, also the aires book . Nearest site that I can see would be Capapino, and then get a bus. Any one know of anything nearer for a night or two? PJay
Caddies104
Hi Try looking up 'Camping Torremolinos'. No idea what it's like, reviews not good, but should be close...
Guest Peter James
I took this photo a year ago, showing where the motorhomes stay in the car park next to the lovely Paloma Park, which is near the seafront in the centre of Benalmadena. If a guy comes round attempting to collect money tell him to p*ss off - its a scam because its free to park there
PJay
Thanks Peter That looks to be ideal to park up. If we can't stay over night there, we can always go to/back to a camp site Do you have any directions, as we don't know that area. i believe our friends will be staying in a hotel oppersite the sea front PJay
chas
Hi PJ- If you drive along the main Benalmadene road in the direction of Fuengirola you will come to a large traffic island bestowed in windmills, this is Windmill island , turn right and go up the hill and you will pass the park on your left and the carpark/aire is on your right just a few 100 yds further on. It goes without saying not to leave any steps out or wheel ramps as this could well be deemed as camping. you can walk back to the island and cross over the road onto the sea front promenade theres a good chance the hotel will be on the left further up, its pleasant on the promaenade away from the busy road, with plenty of watering holes. Enjoy.
Guest Peter James
chas - 2014-02-04 12:40 PM Hi PJ- If you drive along the main Benalmadene road in the direction of Fuengirola you will come to a large traffic island bestowed in windmills, this is Windmill island , turn right and go up the hill .......... You got the idea but you take the first left when you start to go up the hill from the roundabout, keeping the park on your right. You should have no problem getting on at night, but like any car park near the seafront it can get crowded during the day, especially when they set up the unofficial car boot sales there. For that reason you may prefer to park near the exit so you can't get blocked in for the day. Also the cockerels in the park start at first light so you may prefer not to park on the side alongside the park. But if you get there during the day and can't get on there is unrestricted parking on the road so you could park there till it clears in the evening. There is a coin op laundrette in the filling station alongside the park.

Guest Peter James
You wouldn't see it all in 2 days, but then perhaps you wouldn't want to ;-) Benalmadena has the biggest British community outside Britain. Like a giant council estate with areas modeled on areas of Britain like 'little Blackpool' with Blackpool style fish & chip shop and a Spanish branch of Blackpool shops :-D But you could miss most of that if you just did Paloma Park, the seafront and Marina. (lol) PS: when you take the left turn in front of Paloma Park main gate there is a public water tap just inside the main gate, but its easy to miss. Peter I agree with you, we would not want to stay, as I said in Op, friends will be there for a weeks holiday(they like all that English bars and kareoke) just a chance to say hello , and have a meet up, depends where we are in Spain . We prefer the more Spainish type area,s. Ive never been to Blackpool either!! PJay
