skercat
For all you well travelled motorhomers out there - Some years ago I bought some fantastic wine from a road side kiosk in Gassin near St Tropez. Does anyone know of it? I'd love to find it again. Thanks.
Derek Uzzell
There's no guarantee that, even if the roadside kiosk were still trading, the wine being sold now would be what as you bought in the past or (as it would almost certainly be a later vintage) as good as you remember. There are quite a few wine-makers in the Gassin area and many of them sell retail and offer tastings. There's a short listing here http://tinyurl.com/p9rwwla Unless you can recall what wine you bought, it will be pot-luck as to whether you'll locate it again. Your best bet might be to check out what's being sold here http://www.mavigne.com/vins.php

laimeduck
For 25 years my parents caravaned for 2 months twice a year at Camping de la Plage in Grimaud, near Cogolin which is close to Gassin. They did this until about 1996. They used to buy their wine in large plastic bottles from a local farm & it was called "Pere Tom", somewhere near Gassin. I went there with them on several occasions and the wine was excellent (out there in the sun). It did not drink well back home in the UK however, not that it had much of a chance lasting that long!
