Symbol Owner
pelmetman - 2014-05-08 3:14 PM What.... no Frogeye Sprite? 8-)................... See No.71, Dave! I don't know what two Honda's are doing in the list -- even though I own one (a Jazz) which is a super little car and has never let us down in 7 years with astounding build quality -- but -- designed and made in Japan I'm afraid.................. I'm with Dick Tracker on this one! Cheers, Colin. P.S. Martyn I drool along with you -- the 'E-Type' was the finest British car to be made in my lifetime. As a boy, I was 'blown away' by a pair of 3-litre 1930's Bentleys that lived in my home village -- glad to see the 'blower' version is there -- as is my first car -- the Austin Seven -- those were the days! CliveH
The Honda CRV, the Jazz and the Civic are all made at Swindon - here in the UK. http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/campaigns/2011/madeinbritain/britishbuilthondas/
Symbol Owner
I know that Clive -- Swindon is just 'down the road' from me -- but mine was made in Japan -- it is only recently that they have taken to making the 'Jazz' at Swindon-- and -- what is British about the design? Still, I took a look at the 'Autocar' article ( on-line) and it seems that the brief was not just :'Top 100 British cars' and also seems to include 'foreign' interlopers such as the Renault Megane ( designed by a British team apparently) and various Nissans and toyotas too! Colin. P.S. I have it on good authority that the famous 'build quality' of Hondas has declined since they started making them here! C.

It DOES say: "Austin-Healey Sprite" Dave! That should 'nail' it surely? Colin. P.S. No.23 is: "MG Midget" (who's to say if it is the 'lookalike' or the later, 'mini-MGB' one?) C. Zydeco Joe
Nice to see a Jensen in at No 11. They used to test drive them down a road I worked in as it was not far from the Jenson factory in West Brom. Lots of dinner times we would see one driven past, O happy Days. B-)
