Hi

well we've done it we're starting to live the dream, retired last August sold and bought a new house, and have now just bought our new Motorhome a AS Cotswold 2011. We don't collect to the end of the month.

my query is should we enrol in a club? so we get to know fellow MH users, should we join the MMM club and the Autosleeper club or will that be club overload.

Sandy was in the Royal Engineers do they have a club?

I talk about living the dream - the dream is using the van in the winter in warmer climates and also a cross Europe trip to Greece but we need to practise living the life again as we haven't had a van since the end of the 90's so we need to relearn what we've forgotten and also learn whats new.

So any advise will be helpful.

Best wishes to all

TrishnSandy

Joining a club very much depends on how much you want to socialise. I use the forum to find out useful info but you will need to ignore the mud slinging that goes on. We're fairly antisocial and wouldn't want to go to a meet but when you are travelling its easy to wander round a site and chat to people.

I can't believe you're antisocial Gwyn - maybe just not very sociable.

(The anti- social ones are the ones who annoy others ).

We belong to both C&CC and CC but don't go to 'meets' - just not our thing. But both clubs are useful for sites / occasional discounts / insurance etc.

They also arrange group holidays if that is what suits you.

I certainly wouldn't join a load of clubs at the start - once you settle in to your own routines you can always look for something suitable later if required.

Have to agree with Gwen. Not in to the club meets etc. We do our own thing, and as has been said, talk to others on sites. We don't camp in Uk so clubs not of much use.

Currently enjoying Spain, where it is hot, but windy down here on Costa Brava. Trying out new sites as we go, thanks to ACSI book, and going to favorite's as well. Plenty of empty spaces every where we have been. There are now far more Motor homes than caravans touring around. The spanish have bought the older ones,(caravans) and are using instead of tents, so who says there is no money in Spain?

cheers from Spain

PJay
