Vixters other half
Hi can anyone steer me in the right direction re trailer insurance. The motorhome is insured fully comp. and so is the smart car. The trailer is automatically covered but third party only. No one seems to be interested in insurance in case it gets stolen, which is I think the greatest risk. We have hitch lock and wheel clamp but so far that has not impressed insurance companies. Any Ideas anyone? VoH

Mel E
Try the Caravan Club's insurers - or any good motorhome insurer such as Comfort, Safeguard, Bakers, Caravan Guard. If all else fails, call Indespension for help - they make both trailer and trailer parts and also hire out trailers - they have a web site (via Google search). Are you sure the car is still covered when on the trailer - have you checked with the car's insurers and got written confirmation?
howie
Mel. You often find some policies don,t cover the trailer when not attached to the car. Not much use if you return on site and find trailer and contents have gone awol. As you say, check the small print and get it down in writing. Howard.
