Dog Boarding/ Kennels Algarve/Southern Spain

Hi All, has anyone on here ever used or know of anyone that has used a Kennel or Boarding for dogs in this area. We've got to return home next winter for a wedding so thinking of leaving the van down there and flying home for a few days, problem is our pooch.

We used kennels near Alhaurin le Grande near Malaga three years ago I dog was with them for 3 weeks and they were very good. They are English owned and reasonably priced.

My Neighbour has boarding kennels. Near jimena de la frontera, 15 kms inland from gibraltar/algeciras

Just as an aside - has your dog ever been in kennels? If not it might be worth thinking about alternatives as they can be very frightening for some dogs, especially older ones.

 

Also, check out the situation regarding your MH's insurance when you leave it unattended in Spain as usually this means you don't in effect have any cover at all! 8-) :-|

Motorhome storage is sorted and not a problem. Our dog has never been in Kennels which is why we are looking for recommendations so we can check them out en route. WE will probably try her in kennels in the UK before we depart but at the moment just looking for options.

PS She is a 5 year old Golden Retreiver.

We used to live in Estepona and used a kennels called Stephanies, unfortunately I do not still have the telephone number for the kennels, but they are well known as is she in Estepona so you could ask.

The kennels & Cattery were always clean and my animals never had any problems
