dwaned
Hi all, New to the forum and first post :) I've just picked up a 1989 Fiat Ducato Dethleffs and I'm going through it piece by piece. I can't find a inverter anywhere and was just wondering if they are standard or some common hiding places for them? Any advice appreciated. dwaned
Derek Uzzell
Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums. You might find an inverter (examples here) https://www.roadpro.co.uk/retail/product_level_2.aspx?prod=Inverters as part of the standard specification of large very expensive motorhomes, but an inverter will generally not be offered on a new motorhome even as a ‘factory option’. The reason for this is simply that most motorcaravan buyers won’t feel a need to have one or, if an inverter is subsequently felt desirable, will choose one of a type/performance that’s appropriate for their requirements. So if you can’t find one (it would usually be connected directly to the motorhome’s leisure-battery) it should not be surprising.
dwaned
Thanks for your reply. I had a feeling there wasn't one but there was always a chance it was buried somewhere out of sight. Need to get around to thinking 12v for everything, makes more sense anyway.
Billggski
You should have 240v sockets to use on hook up. If you contact the Dethleffs Owners Club you could get a manual to show you what was fitted.
dwaned
Thanks Billggski, there is only the one 240v socket (that I've found) I'll search for the owners club now and see what else I can find out.
