peacock312
Hi all,my five year old Fiat x250 3ltr. Ignition key now refuses to stay folded, has anyone else experienced this? Is there a simple fix?or is it an elastic around it from now on? Open it gets to the parts in my trouser pocket never experienced before!
lennyhb
The simple fix is expensive - £180 for a new key. (lol)

PJay
Even cheaper option ! Use the spare key, and keep the unfolding one for a spare, or let the Mrs keep in her handbag!! PJay

PJay May not be an option if his van has an alarm, integrated into the canbus system, & won't be able to operate the central looking remotely. Pleased our new van doesn't have central locking I gave the bulky key to the boss, looked at getting another small key even that was £55!

euroserv
Going further, there are guys on ebay also selling replacement buttons that solder onto the pcb inside the fob. It's like performing micro-surgery though and not for the feint of heart but I have done a few. Better to replace the case before the rubber membrane wears through and the buttons break off!
