rolandrat Posted October 24, 2014 Share Posted October 24, 2014 If the engine seems sluggish it might want a good service starting with the fuel filter, air filter and then an oil and filter change. Check that the hand brake is releasing properly. Has it been laid up for a long time? It might need a good blasting up the motorway to get rid of the cobwebs. A bit disapointed with performance First second third ok then no guts in fourth and fith. I had to change down to second on a slight hill with black smoke coming out of the exhaust on acceleration The company I bought it from said they are normally sluggish. sheer lunar-see Posted October 24, 2014 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Hi there, If the vehicle has been laid up for a long period, especialy in the warm weather, you might have a bug growing in the tank, in which case you need to have the tank removed, and the pick-up filter cleaned, tank flushed and additive put in, I had this happen on a old type 307 Merc van.
