4cls
Doing a bit of early planning for next year, Her in doors wants to visit Limoges in France, she is a bit of a culture vulture, and loves museums etc, We have scrolled the internet, looked at the up to date Aires book and there does not seem to be any campsites or Aires in the immediate area, some thing on a bus route would be nice as walking long distances plays hell with the onset of arthritis. Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions?
Ninian
Hi, Going to Limoges, Oradour sur Glane is well worth a visit. It has it's own Aire adjacent to the town. The old town is still the same as it was left in 1944. The new town is the other side of the road.

Tracker
A lot of walking from the Aire to the ruins of Oradour, also the Aire is mostly sloping and it pays to be early if you want a levelish spot.
Billggski
We stay at St Germain les Belles South of Limoges, a great site but not that close. All free autoroute into the city though so a quick journey if you use your MH. Limoges is the centre of ceramics and fine enamels, some great museums and factory visits. You can visit Oradour, Lake Vassiviere, and many of the pretty villages further south such as Collonges les Rouge, Uzerche and so on.
Brian Kirby
Camping d'Uzurat, Avenue d'Uzurat, 87280 Limoges. GPS: N45.87056 E1.27578. To north of city. Bus to/from city. From A20 southbound take junc 30 (limited access) onto N520 (dual) south, then right onto D250 (dual), then right again onto Avenue d'Uzurat. From A20 northbound take junc 31 (limited access) right onto D250 and then as above. Good 2013 report in CC Caravan Europe guide. Limiges railway station is also worth a look! Brian Kirby
There is a parking area near the entrance (Rue de Saint-Junien). GPS N45.92920 E1.03329 Possibly easier to park here, visit Oradour, and then move on to aire or campsite.
mildi
Just in case anyone was unaware, dogs are not allowed in Oradour Sur Glen, we went last year and lots of people being turned away with their dogs.

They are not allowed in the ruins or the Centre de la Mémoire (unless they are guide dogs), the new town is OK
