Has anyone had any experience of this motorhome please?. Might be thinking of upsizing from a PVC .

Also never had a Ford Transit cab and engine before. All information would be very welcome and suggestions for other 6 metre vans would be valuable. Thank you

Have you got a year of manufacture and particular Siesta T-600 model in mind?

Hobby made Siesta T-600s for a number of years in over-cab and low-profile format, with standard and ‘Exclusive’ bodywork and with several interior layouts.

All Siesta T-600s were around 6.4 metres in length. If you were interested in a Ford-based Hobby close to 6 metres long, you’d need to look at the shorter “Van” models. (Hobby also produced the Siesta T-555 at around 5.85m long.)

There are some reviews of Ford-based Hobby Siestas and Vans here

I’m not certain when Hobby began to use the name “Siesta”, but Ford Transit Mk 5-based Hobby motorhomes (not Siesta-named) began to be available in 2004 in FWD or RWD format powered by 2.0litre or 2.4litre motors respectively.

Hobby subsequently used the Transit Mk 6 (FWD with 2.2litre motor) for Siesta and Vans, initially with a 5-speed gearbox and later with a 6-speed ‘box. The latter is preferable, as the 5-speed transmission’s 1st and reverse gear-ratios are overly high for a 3500kg motorhome.
