kindo106
Live in South Wales, near the border for England. I'm looking for ideas for a nice day out, within a couple of hours travelling. Obviously, the roads must be suitable for my 6 berth Escape 686. I have two sheepdogs so would also like a place to run them.

kindo106
Hi Tracker...that's a coincidence, as we had intended to visit Evesham last Saturday but were late starting out so didn't think we had time. Can you tell me the best car park to park up in for a couple of hours. I would like to walk and run my dogs and my wife & I would also like to walk around to see the town. Have you taken your motorhome to Bradford upon Avon yet. I've been told its really nice.
Tracker
Hi Kevin, Depends what you expect from a town? Evesham town centre is pleasant enough and compact enough to walk around in comfort with several car parks in the town centre details of which are here. http://www.wychavon.gov.uk/documents/10586/108519/wdc-parking-carparks-3d-evesham2.jpg/c85a4531-b2d5-4a51-b997-bdd3e7b39189?t=1399560402000 The park by the river is pleasant enough with riverside walks and a few boats coming and going and the Crown Meadow car park and the river should keep the dogs happy whilst still being close enough to walk to the town. We quite like the Evesham country park which has free parking and some walks, also down to the river if you wish. http://www.eveshamcountrypark.co.uk/ Broadway is a very popular - some might say too popular s,all Cotswold town but parking can be a pain the proverbial especially in a van. http://www.broadway-cotswolds.co.uk/ A bit further and Chipping Campden is another pleasant small Cotswold town along similar lines to Broadway but nothing like as overly visited. http://www.chippingcampden.co.uk/contentok.php That should keep you occupied for a while! kindo106
Much appreciated. Another coincidence. In my local club on Sunday night, a friend suggested Chipping Campden.

Geeco
Bradford on Avon is a very interesting town to visit, I am confident you will not be disappointed. There ares a number of very old & unusual buildings ( certainly for an Aussie) in the town and along the canal. The granary and tithe barn are worth a look. A good walk for the dogs is along the tow path on the canal from the granary to where the canal crosses over the Avon river. Have not been there in a MH so not sure on parking but I seem to remember parking for MH might be possible in that granary area of the town. we also found the town has some nice cafes with good espresso.Cheers Gary. kindo106
Thank you Tracker for all the info on Evesham. We went there last Tuesday. Parked in huge car/coach park just after Abbey Road bridge and walked through Crown Meadow, along the footpath by the river into town. We had lovely weather that day and really enjoyed our day.
