The window is to come from Acryform in Slovenia via their AU agent. Acryform make the windows for Adria and I have been advised that I need a complete window including the frame. I have a really good rv repairer that will sort it for me. I no longer "sweat the small stuff!". Cheers,

One of the things about this forum I like is a subject such as wind can go in many directions (no pun intended). While I have travelled through the top half of Croatia including the beautiful west coast I had never heard or experienced the Bora. Please keep educating me with your posts. As an adjunct the broken window landed by airfreight in Sydney from Slovenia is a shade short of AU$2,000 plus installation. Think I shall call my insurer. Cheers,

On a recent discussion on here re awnings I commented that when the wind gets up I pull my awning in. Well on Tuesday it did become strong so the awning stayed in, however my windows were open and I found out they do not like 50kph plus winds. One of the acrylic sections decided to part company with the window frame at the top hinge area. We are located on a hill overlooking the ocean at a beautiful location called Brooms Head on the east coast of northern NSW. Temp is between 25- 30C great but the wind has been around 35-40kph with gusts upto 60kph. Windows are now in and aircon on until it calms down. It is out with the duck tape until I can have the window replaced. Cheers

In this part of the world ALL motorhomes and caravans are sold with an awning as standard equipment. I have found that an anti flap kit and two tie down ropes at each end works well. I watch the wind forecast and if I see a wind speed over 40kph I pull it it. The anti flap kit I use in addition to reducing flapping of the fabric and the unpleasant noise gives the whole structure rigidity. The attached image shows the full side anti flap clamp system. I agree with Brian K if I travelled only in the UK then I may not bother but on the mainland ( not seen Europe called that before) an awning would be as necessary as it is here especially around the Med. cheers,

Happy new year everyone. We leave home 100% full & drain down on our return home. Bottled water is used for drinking & cooking. I cannot detect any difference in fuel consumption or handling.cheers,

You should consider your luck in the UK, in Sydney all the motorways are tolled. Not only that because my MH is higher than 2.8M I pay truck rates that are very expensive. cheers,

Hi Roy. is your MH a Ducato? My first one was and for the first 10,000 odd kms if I drove up a steep uphill road section the clutch would smell of hot oil. It was not evident after that and it did not appear to have caused any issues. cheers,

Thank you all for your excellent responses. I am considering three campervans as a possible replacement for my Adria motorhome. My current and previous MH were/are both Ducato based. The Fiats have been ultra reliable but I fancy a change. One local builder here offers basically the same layout using Crafter and Sprinter (front drive version) as the base vehicle. As you all know there is always a compromise when deciding on a new purchase so I am spreadsheeting the two vehicles above against an Australian only version of the Adria Twin campervan based on Ducato. One area was the front blinds fitted on the Adria but not on the other two. The blinds for me are a deal breaker if not available thus my call for help. Brian it is possible to have an east/west bed in the Crafter by using pods on the side walls to offer the bed length needed. Both the models I am considering are north /south layouts. The Iveco van is available here and is used by a couple of boutique converters. Cheers, Gary.

I am considering down sizing in the new year to a campervan. The vehicles I like are based on either a MB Sprinter or VW Crafter. My current & previous MH's were based on Fiat Ducatos. Both Fiats were fitted with Remis blinds concertina style to the front screen & side front door windows and I really liked the concept. However I have not seen the same option for either the VW or MB here in AU. I have been on various sites but am unable to ascertain if blinds are made for the CURRENT models of both brands. If anyone is aware of a brand/supplier I would be grateful. Cheers,

Rich, glad to see you are "coming out of retirement". Here is a suggestion from the left side of the field; rent out your house for the UK winter hop on a plane and fly to New Zealand rent a camper or motorhome and go for a drive. then if you have some time left there is plenty to see here on your way home. Why NZ ? The weather is cooler than AU but generally warmer than UK (pre global warming). The terrain and scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Because it is so compact you do not need to drive long distances. The NZ people speak a variation of English and are friendly, even my Sister married one! Oh yes I almost forgot you have taken tea with Steve on our last UK narrowboat trip. The rental fleet in NZ is much more varied than AU with many UK/EU models available as well as locally made offers. Interested in your thoughts. cheers,

Depends on where in AU you plan to visit. Many areas of the country are poorly served by mobile phone or data. By far the best coverage is on the Telstra network however it is also at the top of the price tree. Next best is the network we use Optus . You can go on line and review the coverage maps of both carriers to check on the locations you plan to visit. If you are only visiting capital cities and major towns/cities then most suppliers will be adequate. When we did our last trip around the island I purchased a Telstra sim card for an old spare phone and took that as a backup to my Optus connection. In the back blocks we often did not have coverage between larger centres. As it turned out we had no issues that needed to be addressed. Enjoy you journey and remember to allow travel time to suit the long distances. Sydney to Perth is similar to New York to LA. cheers, Gary

I have looked at the Rollerteam website 360 view and it appears there are 3 cupboards, 2 small & 1 longer unit beside the stove. One of these could possibly provide sufficient space to fit a unit. That area is close to the kitchen and could provide access to power as the stove is next to the cupboards. Fitting the unit is straight forward once you have identified the unit will fit. Mine is held in place by screws coming up from underneath into the feet. Cheers,

ChasB my Adria Coral roof windows have a cassette that includes both the blind & fly screen. It is possible to remove the plastic cover by gently levering with a flat faced screw driver to expose the slides for both the fly screen & blind. You can unscrew this and remove to your work bench to clean with your favourite chemical cleaners. I have cleaned mine a few times as the red dust in the outback is a challenge. I hope you lot in the UK are enjoying the warm weather, where we are camped tonight the forecast is for -2C overnight. My old Autotrail used to cope with low temps much better than the Adria as it had Truma gas heating not evident in the Adria but I digress. Cheers,

Maybe you need to tell us what "acting up" means or is this spam?

Since Covid we have decided to use our onboard toilet & shower rather than park facilities. Fortunately our Adria has a separate shower & toilet in the bathroom along with a window & roof opening combined with toilet bowl disposable liners have helped to make the whole body cleansing process a diddle. Recently I have been looking at the options available to downsize to a 6+ mtr campervan, however I always look at the combined shower/toilet area and walk away. It is not a compromise either of us are prepared to make. One point I would make is that showers IMHO need two drains of the larger domestic variety rather than the barely adequate single small drain. Cheers.

I have had two Fiats with comformatic boxes. The first an Autotrail with 2.3 150 hp engine that completed 80,000 kms trouble free. The second my current vehicle an Adria with 2.3 180hp has 44,000kms also trouble free. I feel the 180hp version suits the comformatic better than the 150hp version. You do not need to anticipate a slow reaction to hills as much when on cruise control. Most motorhomes /campervans are automatics here. Same with cars more autos than manual. Cheers,

My Truma boiler (not a Combi) is powered by mains power or gas. If set to gas and the boiler fails to ignite it shows as a red light. If it ignites it shows up as a green light. So if it shows a red light then I suspect it is showing that it has not ignited. If the boiler has not been run on gas for a while it may take several goes to achieve ignition. Have you removed the external cover on the exhaust on the outside of the caravan? It will not work if that cover is on. Cheers,

When I purchased our Adria Coral I fitted a thin fibreboard piece wrapped in thin boot lining material over that area between the seats. I then purchased an aftermarket carpet to suit the Ducato cab area. Now I do not feel like I am going to fall through that soft area when I walk on it. I agree the standard cover seems to not be strong enough even though it probably is stronger than it feels. The idea of the board came from my previous Autotrail that had the board & carpet as standard on Aust delivered motorhomes. Cheers,
