Ford Cab Carpet

The Transit Mk 8 is relatively new and commercial companies that specialise in after-market mats (example below)

may not yet got arround to marketing inexpensive cab carpets for the latest Ford.

Have you tried a Ford main agent? I expect there is a ‘genuine’ cab carpet available for the Mk 8 and that it would be excellent quality, but I suspect it would not be cheap.

A small local carpet shop is the best and most economic suggestion. Just because it is a motorhome doesn't make soft furnishings any different than a domestic situation apart from specifying a durable product.

They may even have a roll end of a commercial grade offfice carpet, the other advantage you have a wider choice.

I don't know where you are based but there is a carpet stall in Leek Market North Staffordshire and he will make you new carpets of your choice he uses your old for the template and he also binds the edges. He did a full replacement set for my 2014 Auto Sleeper Broadway for £75.

Have you considered rubber mats ? We have just bought a custom fitted one piece mat for our Chausson.

More durable than carpet and easier to keep clean. Details at www.maxmats.co.uk

Price in the region of £80 but will last for years.

I’m not sure how practicable it would be to have a carpet-shop make a one-piece mat that would tidily cover the complete cab area of a current-model Transit-based Chausson.

While it should be straightforward enough to purchase a good quality off-the-shelf one-piece mat (or have one made) for a current Boxer/Ducato/Relay that has a flat cab floor, it will be seen from the attached photo that the Transit Mk 8’s cab floor is far from flat. This might explain why no cheapish off-the-shelf cab carpet seems to be available (yet) for the Mk 8.

It shouldn’t be a problem having a multi-piece set of carpeting made for a Mk 8, but that may not be what noble1 is looking for.

It might be helpful to know what Chausson fits (Perhaps noble1 can provide a photo?) and - as langdav has a Flash 610 (presumably the Ford-based version rather than the Fiat-based one) and has been able to obtain a custom-made one-piece rubber mat for it - maybe my concern about the Transit’s floor’s shape is unwarranted.
