I do have some sympathy for the ordinary "man on a Greek omnibus," because they are the ones who must bear the brunt of these problems.

It is pretty certain that when the Germans, French, and others, made their bid to get Greece into the EU, they did not explain the potential problems that lay in wait if all the lies did not come true, and can we, hand on heart, say they we would not say yes if we were promised the rise in standards of living and improved services and infrastructure, and all that , that was promised to all the PIGS countries?

When you have so little it must be very tempting to forget that there is no such thing as "magic money", and go for it, hoping that the future will be so much better.

The one thing that we can be fairly sure about is that the movers and shakers, and decision makers within the Greek nation will make sure that they will not suffer too badly.

It might be their best option, because it seems that Angie ( Merkel) and Frankie (Hollande) are unlikely to be giving them anything nice this year, and it was mainly them that talked these people into it.
