I notice you also asked about this earlier:

I’m doubtful that your blind is a REMIS product as all the REMIS front-windscreen blinds I’ve seen (including the REMIfront blinds fitted to my 2005 Hobby motorhome and current Rapido) have comprised two sections of concertina material, with each section sliding from a screen-pillar to the centre on upper and lower thick metal rods. As far as I’m aware no REMIS front-windscreen blind has had (or needed) ‘strings’.

Dometic(Seitz) also make cab blinds. As I’m not familiar with them, these may have strings. Examples of Dometic ‘blackout’ system and windscreen roller-blind are shown here

Not tri d it, but there is a repair kit here.

Yes Thanks Bill. I found that on google. We are going to take the blind of the van (don't keep at home) and then see , maybe it has just come out of a groove ,

Thanks for reply, I am surprised that no-one else has had a problem

The “cab blind closure” repair kit relates to the latest type of REMIS blind system as fitted to my 2015 Rapido.

In this 2013 forum discussion

http://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Fiat-front-blinds-cab-/31245/

I see that I mentioned that the REMIS pleated windscreen-blind for Ducatos manufactured before mid-2006 (when the X250 range was introduced) was one-piece. There’s a photo of that type of concertina blind here

https://www.leisureshopdirect.com/caravan-accessories/caravan-blinds/remis-blinds/remis-blinds-remifront-motorhome-blinds/remifront-for-fiat-ducato-side-panels-only-pre-06-2006

and I’m guessing that this is what you have and (based on the photo) that it has ‘guide strings’ like those used on REMIS pleated blinds for motorhome/caravan habitation-area windows.

As the original REMIfront cab-blind system was far from cheap (and probably not offered as a factory-option in those days) it’s likely that few REMIfront 1 blinds were fitted to UK motorhomes, so the chances of an Out&AboutLive forum member being familiar with the system and/or being able to advise on ‘re-stringing’ the front blind will be pretty small.

Thanks Derek Yes it is the one piece .Was fitted by Swift as Standard .

As i said we will take it off, and then we can see what needs doing. The actual fabric is fine, and we are always careful when lifting it. i think maybe the string has deteriorated in 10 years of use/sun.We have had several people ask us, when at sites, about our blind , so i guess not so common after all. Will let you know how we get on when we hopefully fix it, as don't wan t to pay £300 + for a new one. Our van one of the first of this model, at the change from 2005 to 2006

I did find your earlier post by googling
