Prefer the less commercialised sites. We are taking the ferry route from Portsmouth to Bilbao, are there any particular things we should be aware of. Camping Bellavista, Embalsa de Barasona La Puebla de Castro, near Graus, (Huesca (Aragon)) Spain If you like Aires in France, try the ones at Port-Vendres (Dept 66), literally on the Med, Mirepoix (Dept 09), Fanjeaux (Dept 11), Duilac s/s Peyrepertuse (Dept 66). Guest Tony S Posted April 7, 2005 Share Posted April 7, 2005 We stayed at the 'Aire' at Peyrepertuse (at the village at the foot of the castle) last week. An excellent free site. Generally, especially out of season, there are plenty of 'aires', municipal sites and opportunities for off site camping in the entire Pyrenees region. P.S. Despite Peyrepertuse being a Cathar stronghold, I refrained from (re)mentioning their ultimate fate, you may have noticed.
