Fionadb1
Good afternoon everyone A bit of advice needed, if anyone has a moment. We dock in Santander on the 29th Dec at 7.30 so want to get a good run in. Heading for Camping Marjal Guardamar. Happy to drive for 7/8 hours, so not so far to go the following day, thinking about near Albacete, anyone any ideas? Struggling to find anywhere open. Thanks so much Fiona
mikebeaches
To the south of Madrid, but a significant distance before Albecete, there's a very pleasant ACSI site at Arunjuez which is open all year - €19 euro with a hook-up 'Camping International Aranjuez' http://www.campingcard.co.uk/spain/madrid/madrid/aranjuez/camping-internacional-aranjuez-106630/ The town of Arunjuez is pretty special too and well worth investigating. It's a long-time favourite of the Spanish Royals and there is an impressive castle, not far from the campsite. There's a Google streetview image here: http://tinyurl.com/hc62wbl It's a reasonable journey from Santander, and the onward drive to the Med is comfortably doable on day 2. rolandrat
I can recommend the Aire at Ucles just south of Taranson. You will see the sign for the Aire if you keep bearing left once you are in the village. It is near a Monastery but don't follow the road up to the side of it. There is free Elsan and water available.
Bojitoes
We too can recommend Aranjuez, if it looks a bit far there is another excellent site north of Madrid at Riaza. It is in the shadow of the mountains but they are well equipped to deal with any snowfalls. It is about 30 minutes walk to the village centre where there are some nice bars and a super restaurant which does suckling pig. This too is an ACSI site. Have a good trip, we will be a couple of weeks behind Bob

Mike88
Aranjuez is a great site and is deserving of a longer stay. The site is actually in the Palace grounds although it is a good 30 minute stroll into the area where the palace is located.

John Edward
We often use the free Aire in the town of Alcazar de San Juan, south of Madrid. It's in the middle of town, next to the bullring and opposite a large park. Shops and restaurants a few yards away. Fresh water available and grey water dump.
