westerbister
Hi, my 2008 boxer immobiliser light is on and the engine will not start with either of the keys, I have replaced the earth strap from the gearbox to the chassis and checked the wiring behind the fuse carriers and looms but all seems fine.. Any help would be appreciated.
starvin marvin
Even before you'd reached this stage I'd have called either the AA or RAC out.
Steve928
He's already been more thorough than the AA or RAC would have been prior to them calling the recovery truck to take you to the nearest auto electrician.

Steve928
starvin marvin - 2015-12-28 4:12 PM Exactly my point. My apologies, I read your post as criticising rather than complementing the OP's actions. It's so hard to pick up the wrong meaning from forum posts.. westerbister
Thanks Steve 928 you have saved me a fortune I read your post from September 14th and traced the earth control wire from the ECU and the fuse box and found the broken cable at the junction of the wiring loom where it goes to the abs unit, a quick solder and away she went. Thanks again Alan.
Steve928
That's good news. Was it the same thin white/orange wire as caused my problem?
westerbister
Yes it was the orange and White cable exactly as you posted where it sits on the chassis leg below the abs unit. Just been out a run today for the first time since it broke down in October. Thanks again
