Thump

Maybe worth checking the silencer hanger rubbers. They have a band around them to limit the movement, and they rot out after a few years allowing the silencer to swing around. Could be the exhaust hitting the chassis when you fire up?

If the hanger rubber bands have failed replacements are readily available from most exhaust fitters like Kwik Fit for a lot less than FIAT prices.

It's the rear engine mount, you'll need to get it changed for the modified one, any fiat commercial dealer can do it, takes about an hour and isn't expensive

I had exactly the same problem, my dealer told me the thump was the step closing on startup, well done marquis, when pressured they paid to have it fixed
